More details on the awards:
The Prime Minister's Small Business of the Year Award is a national award recognising business committed to training and developing their staff and others in their industry.
Australian Bridal Industry Award (abia.com.au) is a people's choice award which Stephen Jewellery has won for Queensland in 2006, 2004, 2003 and 2002. Stephen was also a finalist in the award in 2005 and 2001.
The Jewellery Association of Australian Design Awards is an industry award for excellence in workmanship and design. In 2000 we won with a piece called “Surprise”. It was a multi-gold, multi-toned individualized linked bracelet. It was designed and constructed by the team at Stephen Dibb studio. Each link was produced by a team member in secrecy to create the ultimate surprise. In the same year we were also a finalist in another category with a flowing 18ct white Gold Brooch titled “A guiding light” based on the Southern Cross. It featured golden sapphires with a scattering of yellow and white diamonds. In 1998, our intricate 18 ct yellow gold free moving diamond-set jigsaw-ring by Jason Sallaway made finalist. In 1994, our multi-tone gold and diamonds colonial Queenslander house brooch made finalist. In 1982, as a fourth year apprentice Stephen won his first award for an 18ct yellow gold chrysoprase and diamond set pendant attached to a wire choker. The design was a moon shape, half of which was bead set with 39 diamonds. The other half was set with a chrysoprase which was veiled by six sections of faceted yellow gold.
The De Beers Diamond Award was an industry award for excellence and design working with diamonds. It is no longer awarded. In 1991, a 18ct yellow gold neckpiece featuring a pendent with 200 brilliant cut diamonds totaling 2.49 ct pave set into modern design made finalist.
